LOLER is the regulation enforced by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) which covers lifting equipment and lifting operations. The regulations apply in all industries and are designed to ensure the safe use of lifting equipment in the workplace, where proper planning, supervision and regular inspections is required.
LOLER aims to minimise the risks associated with lifting equipment by ensuring its safe, suitable for the task involved and properly maintained.
LOLER applies to all businesses and organisations that use lifting equipment, regardless of ownership.
